View in browser NEW & NOTEWORTHY KFF-Washington Post Survey Examines Parents Who Identify As "Make America Healthy Again" Supporters and Their Views on Children's Health Issues A new report based on a KFF-Washington Post Survey of Parents explores the characteristics and views of those who identify as supporters of the "Make America Healthy Again" (MAHA) movement as well as their views on children's health issues. Overall, about four in 10 parents identify as supporters of the MAHA movement. Republicans, especially those who support President Trump's "Make America Great Again" movement, are much more likely than Democrats and independents to identify with the MAHA movement.   While few MAHA parents say they are "anti-vaccine," most say they are "in the middle" when it comes to vaccines, and their attitudes reflect this mix of views and behaviors. At least four in 10 say that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends too many vaccines for children and that they lack confidence in the nation's health agencies to ensure vaccine safety and effectiveness. MAHA parents are also twice as likely as other parents to say that there has been too little scientific research into whether there is a link between vaccines and autism (48% vs. 24%).   The report draws on data from the 37th survey in the KFF-Post partnership dating back to 1995 that combines survey research with in-depth journalism. The Post today published a story focused on the views and experiences of MAHA parents and plans to publish additional stories drawing on the survey results.
